Current world number nine ranked Team Marco Hoesli has seen continuous improvement over the past Olympic cycle, becoming Grand Slam regulars and reaching several tour finals. During the 2024-25 season, the team won both the Oslo Cup and the Grand Prix Bern Inter Challenge while also finishing runner-up at the Henderson Metal Fall Classic and the Swiss National Championship.

This momentum has carried into the 2025-26 season as the team, consisting of skip Marco Hoesli, fourth Philipp Hoesli, second Simon Gloor and lead Justin Hausherr went a perfect 7-0 to claim the Baden Masters. In the final, they bested world number two and Olympic qualified Team Yannick Schwaller.

Starting with the hammer, the team from Glarus blanked the first end before taking a deuce in the second. Schwaller then counted two of their own in the third to level the score at two-all. After another blank in four, Philipp Hoesli made a precise tap back to give his team a single in five.

In the sixth, both teams had a rock touching the button after all the rocks were thrown. Not being able to decide who was shot rock, it was considered a blank with Team Schwaller retaining the hammer. They were then forced to just one in the seventh, leaving the game tied at three-all with Hoesli having the hammer in the final end.

Facing one counter on his last rock in the eighth, Philipp Hoesli removed the Schwaller counter to secure the win for his team, 5-3 the final score.

Baden Masters - Final - Yannick Schwaller vs Marco Hoesli:

It was an impressive Sunday for Team Hoesli who shutout the world number one ranked Team Bruce Mouat 8-0 earlier in the semifinals, doing so without the hammer. The team stole deuces in the second and fourth ends, a single in the third, and three more in the fifth to end the game early.

Through the round robin, the team finished 4-0 and earned the third seed in the playoff round. They began with a 5-4 win over Michael Brunner (Bern, SUI) and then beat Stefano Spiller (Bormio, ITA) 6-5.

In their third game, Team Hoesli beat Marc Muskatewitz (Fuessen, GER) 4-3 before dispatching Grunde Buraas (Lillehammer, NOR) 7-2. In the quarterfinals, they again beat Muskatewitz 8-1 to advance to the semifinals.

With an impressive tour win on their schedule already, Team Hoesli will now turn their attention to the Trentino World Cup, scheduled for August 28 to 31. The team will then head to Canada to play in the AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic (Sept. 11-14), the KW Fall Classic (Sept. 18-21), and the Masters Tier 1 GSOC event (Sept. 23-28).
