Peterman/Gallant bounce back with win
![]() Jocelyn Peterman and Brett Gallant (Photo: Curling Canada) got back on track after a rough pair of games Monday in Summerside. By: Cameron Sallaj Olympic Trials and World representatives Jocelyn Peterman and Brett Gallant had a great start to the 2025 national championship, downing Tyler Parmiter and Ronnie Burgess 10-3 in the opening draw Sunday. On Monday, however, the pair suffered two setbacks, losing tight 6-5 and 8-6 games against the Brunton/Horgan and Riley/Mullen duos respectively. Needing to bounce back into the win column, the team took on Christie Gamble and Matt Lang in Tuesdays action. Starting with last rock, Peterman/Gallant came out of the gates firing, putting three on the board in the opening end. They later increased their lead to 6-1 with a steal of two in the fourth end. Gamble and Lang (Langenburg, SK) tried to close the gap in the fifth end with a score of three, however, the Alberta duo answered right back with three of their own in the sixth to stay ahead. With another steal of two in the seventh, the Saskatchewan rink conceded with Peterman and Gallant wrapping up an 11-4 victory. At 2-2, the 2019 world silver medalists are still within reach of the playoffs if they are able to win the rest of their games. They will next play Pinksen/Aglukark (Iqaluit, NU) at 7 pm AT Tuesday with games against Sluchinski/Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB) and Gionest/Desjardins (Alma/Chicoutimi, QC) looming on Wednesday. With twelve teams advancing to the knockout round, a 4-3 record at minimum will be needed for a chance at qualification. |
