Neufeld at third, Catlin Schneider and Connor Njegovan on the front end look refreshed after 48 hours off between their last round robin game and their first playoff game. After a blank in the first end, McEwen was left with a draw to the paint for their deuce. Carruthers quickly responded with a draw to the four foot for two. After blanks in the fourth and fifth ends, McEwen saw an opportunity for three, but got unlucky rolling both of their stones out of the rings and jamming the Carruthers stones to give up a steal of two points. McEwen unable to respond, getting forced to their single, making a draw to the four foot. Carruthers with an opportunity for four points, just over curled taking two points and a 6-3 lead after eight. McEwen had an opportunity for two points with a light weight double, but it overcurled and could only get their single. Carruthers ran McEwen out of stones in the tenth, to grab a 6-4 victory. As a team they curled 91%, individually: Reid curled 96%, B.J. curled 84%, Catlin curled 91%, and Connor curled 91%. Carruthers was 6-2 in round robin, starting with a 4-0 start with wins over British Columbia's Cameron de Jong 6-5, Newfoundland and Labrador's Ty Dilello 14-4, Alberta's Kevin Koe 5-4 and New Brunswick's James Grattan 6-4. They suffered their first loss of the event to Canada's Brad Gushue 3-7. They then bounced back with wins over Northern Ontario's John Epping 8-6 and Nunavut's Shane Latimer 7-3. Losing their last round robin game 6-8 to Manitoba's Matt Dunstone. With that win they move on to play Alberta's Brad Jacobs in the 3-4 page playoff game Saturday at 2:30 pm Central Time (CT).
