Inglis Leads Scotties Pool
![]() Ontario's Danielle Inglis (Photo: Andrew Klaver, Curling Canada) put together four straight wins to top the leaderboard. Inglis, with Kira Brunton at third, Calissa Daly at second and Cassandra de Groot at lead find themselves at the top of the leaderboard in Pool B at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, with three games left in the round-robin. Inglis won 9-6 over Bayley Scoffin of the Yukon on Tuesday morning. Inglis opened the scoring with two points in the first end, with Scoffin adding a pair of their own in the second end. After holding Inglis to a single point in the third end, Scoffin and her team of Kerry Foster, Raelyn Helston and Bailey Horte took the lead with two points in the fourth end. Inglis went to work from there, scoring two points in the fifth end to re-take the lead, then stealing singles in the sixth and seventh ends to extend the lead. Scoffin scored two points in the eighth end to close the gap, but it wasn't enough as Inglis scored a single point in the ninth end and stole another in the tenth end for the 9-6 win. Inglis opened play on Saturday with a 7-5 loss to Nova Scotia's Christina Black, then won twice on Sunday, 8-8 against Newfoundland and Labrador's Brooke Godsland and 8-4 over Quebec's Laurie St-George. Inglis added another win on Monday over Manitoba's Kaitlyn Lawes, 8-6. Inglis faces a formidable Manitoba tandem in Kate Cameron and Kerri Einarson over their next two games, a big test for the two-time Ontario champion, who went 3-5 at the 2024 Scotties in Calgary. Inglis wraps up round-robin play against Kerry Galusha of the Northwest Territories on Thursday evening. |
