Homan, backed by Tracy Fleury, Emma Miskew and Sarah Wilkes, led Pool A at the halfway point of their round-robin play. BC's Corryn Brown also has four wins, though their record includes a loss as well. Homan opened their game on Monday evening with hammer, though Saskatoon's Nancy Martin opened the scoring by stealing a single point in the first end. Homan bounced back with two points in the second end, then forced Martin to a single in the fourth end. Homan scored two points in the fifth end to take a two-point lead into the fifth-end break. Martin wasn't ready to surrender, scoring three in the sixth end to take back the lead, though it was Homan doing the same in the seventh end to restore their two-point lead. Martin was held to a single point in the eighth end, with Homan scoring two in the ninth end to take a 9-6 lead into the final end. Homan ran Martin out of rocks in the 10th end for the win. Homan opened play on Friday with a 13-4 win over Jane DiCarlo of Prince Edward Island, then won 10-7 over Krista McCarville of Thunder Bay. Homan won 9-7 over Calgary's Kayla Skrlik on Sunday afternoon. Homan is back on the ice on Tuesday afternoon (2pm ET) against New Brunswick's Melissa Adams. |
