Rene Comeau (Fredericton, NB) won 6-5 over Sam Mooibroek (Waterloo, ON) in the Final of the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship, held November 2 - 8 in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. To advance to the championship game, Comeau won 5-3 over Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals
Comeau finished 9-1 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Comeau defeated Eddie MacKenzie (Cornwall, PEI) 6-4, then won 9-3 against Brent MacDougall (Halifax, NS) and 14-2 against Scott Williamson (Whitehorse, YK). Comeau won 4-3 against Grassie, then won 10-2 against Miles Craig (Victoria, BC). Comeau went on to lose 4-3 against Jessie Hunkin (Crestwood, AB). Comeau responded with a 7-4 win over Yannick Martel (Chicoutimi, QC). Comeau won 11-2 against Rod Feltham (Gander, NL), then won 5-3 against Jason Ackerman (Regina, SK) and 11-6 against Mooibroek in their final qualifying round match.
Comeau ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
