Kim lost 5-1 to Jongduk Park (Gangwon, KOR) where Kim responded with a 6-3 win over GunWoo Park (Uijeongbu, KOR). Kim went on to lose 9-3 against JaeBeom Lee (Seoul, KOR). Kim responded with a 6-3 win over Hakjun Kim (Gangneung, KOR). Kim won 8-7 against Woojung Lee (Uiseong, KOR), then won 1-0 against Jinhan Yoo (Chungham, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.
