Mike Kennedy (Saguenay, QC) won 5-4 over Sylvain Bellavance (Montreal, QC) in the Final of the Tournoi Equinoxe Open, held September 12 - 14 at the Ville Mont Royal Curling Club in , Quebec. To advance to the championship game, Kennedy won 8-3 over Zackary Wise (Montreal, MTL) in the semifinals of the Tournoi Equinoxe Open in , Quebec; and won 11-6 over Paul Lalonde (Montreal, QC) in the quarterfinals. of the Tournoi Equinoxe Open in , Quebec;

Kennedy finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kennedy defeated Antoine Sambin (Montreal, QC) 8-2, then won 7-3 against Zachary Janidlo (Pointe-Claire, QC). Kennedy went on to lose 8-5 against Lalonde in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Tournoi Equinoxe Open Championship title, Kennedy earned 5.250 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 8 of the event schedule, Kennedy did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kennedy ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
