Brett Walter (Winnipeg, MB) lost 5-4 to Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the MCT Challenge, held September 26 - 28 at the St. Vital Curling Club in Winnipeg, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Walter won 8-5 over Saskatchewan's Bradley Moser in the semifinals of the MCT Challenge in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and won 9-6 over Tanner Lott (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the MCT Challenge in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada;

Walter finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walter defeated Manitoba's Stefan Gudmundson 8-2, then went on to lose 9-6 against Jace Freeman (Virden, MB). Walter responded with a 6-3 win over Chase Sinnett (Chaska, MN). Walter won 7-6 against Mike Siwicki (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the MCT Challenge, Walter take home 14.850 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN prize. For week 10 of the event schedule, Walter did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Walter ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
