In their opening game, Ueno/Yamaguchi defeated Chihiro Yuki/Genji Ohara (Obihiro, JPN) 11-2, then won 7-5 against Wakaba Matsuda/Shunya Matsuda (Sapporo, JPN) and 13-1 against Haruko Sakurai/Takanobu Iwasaki (Obihiro, JPN). Ueno/Yamaguchi won 8-5 against Yumeka Mori/Haruto Abe (Sapporo, JPN), then won 7-4 against Yuina Miura/Taiki Kudo (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
