To advance to the championship game, Hong Kong's Jason Chang won 6-5 over P.N. Raju (Hyderabad, IN) in the semifinals of the U.S. Steel Pan-Continental Championships -- B-Division in Eveleth, Minnesota;
Hong Kong's Jason Chang finished 8-2 in the 11-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hong Kong's Jason Chang lost 6-5 to Puerto Rico's Israel Acosta, then responded with a 15-3 win over Nigeria's Harold Woods. Hong Kong's Jason Chang won 11-2 against Brazil's Marcelo Cabral de Mello, then won 10-3 against Mexico's Diego Tompkins and 14-0 against Thailand's Teekawin Jearateetawit. Hong Kong's Jason Chang won 10-5 against Saudi Arabia's Amar Masalmeh, then won 7-6 against Raju and 10-3 against Ting-Li Lin (Taiwan, TPE).
