To advance to the championship game, Whyte won 5-2 over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2025 Stu Sells Oakville Tankard in Oakville, Ontario, Canada; and won 7-3 over Scott Howard (Navan, ON) in the quarterfinals.
Whyte finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Whyte defeated Calan MacIsaac (Truro, NS) 3-1, then won 7-2 against Howard and 6-3 against Edin in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Stu Sells Oakville Tankard Championship title, Whyte earned 45.750 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN first prize cheque. Whyte move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 24.75 points improving upon their best 1 results so far this season, ranking 4th overall with 355.750 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
