Sara Messenzehl (Fuessen, GER) lost 8-2 to Bobae Kang (Jeonbuk, KOR) in the Final of the World Junior Curling Championships, held April 12 - 21, 2025 in Cortina d, Italy. To advance to the championship game, Messenzehl won 8-5 over Allyson MacNutt (Halifax, CAN) in the semifinals of the 2025 World Junior Curling Championships in Cortina d, Italy;
 
Messenzehl finished 7-2 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Messenzehl defeated Evelina Barone (Riga, LAT) 10-7, then won 7-6 against Torhild Bjoernstad (Oppdal, NOR). Messenzehl went on to lose 10-8 against Ziru Li (Beijing, CHN). Messenzehl lost 9-7 to MacNutt where Messenzehl responded with a 8-5 win over Yuina Miura (Nayoro, JPN). Messenzehl won 8-7 against Moa Dryburgh (Sundbyberg , SWE), then won 7-6 against Rebecca Mariani (Trentino, ITA) and 8-6 against Ariane Oberson (Bern, SUI). Messenzehl won 10-9 against Kang in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the World Junior Curling Championships, Messenzehl take home 11.000 world rankings points, moving up 8 spots the World Ranking Standings into 64th place overall with 45.125 total points. Messenzehl ranks 64th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 45.125 points earned so far this season.
