Abylay Zhuzbay (Almaty, KAZ) qualified for the 2025 Asian Winter Games playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 8-5 against Jason Chang (Hong Kong, HKG). of the 2025 Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China;

Zhuzbay finished 2-2 in the 11-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Zhuzbay defeated Ting-Li Lin (Taiwan, TPE) 10-5, then went on to lose 4-1 against Marc Pfister (Manilla, PHI). Zhuzbay lost 12-2 to JaeBeom Lee (Uiseong, KOR) where Zhuzbay responded with a 6-3 win over Kyrgystan's Aibek Asanaliev in their final qualifying round match.

Zhuzbay earned 3.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Asian Winter Games, moving up 58 spots the World Ranking Standings into 191st place overall with 5.750 total points. Zhuzbay ranks 191st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 5.750 points earned so far this season.
