Markus Sund (Fyris, SWE) finished 1-3 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sund defeated Claes Mattsson (Jonkoping, SWE) 9-5, then went on to lose 10-6 against Johan Nygren (Umea, SWE). Sund lost 8-6 to Vilmer Nygren (Harnosand, SWE). Sund lost 7-4 to Johan Hedin (Sundbyberg, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

Sund earned 0.563 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
