Chiaki Matsumura/Yasumasa Tanida (Nagano, JPN) won 9-2 over Tori Koana/Go Aoki (Yamanasshi, JPN) in the Final of the Japanese Mixed Doubles National Championship, held December 2 - 8, 2024 at the Wakkanai Curling Club in Wakkanai, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Matsumura/Tanida won 8-5 over Ikue Kitazawa/Shingo Usui (Nagano, JPN) in the semifinals   of the 2024 Japanese Mixed Doubles National Championship in Wakkanai, Japan; 
 
Matsumura/Tanida finished 7-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Matsumura/Tanida defeated Yuina Miura/Ayato Sasaki (Sapporo, JPN) 10-2, then won 8-5 against Mizuki Hara/Kazushi Niino (Sapporo, JPN) and 6-4 against Kohane Tsuruga/Yuki Abe (Sapporo, JPN). Matsumura/Tanida won 7-4 against Yumiko Kashiwagi/Koji Nisato (Nagano, JPN), then won 9-1 against Kai Tsuchiya/Kohei Okamura (Tokyo, JPN). Matsumura/Tanida went on to lose 5-4 against Kitazawa/Usui. Matsumura/Tanida lost 7-6 to Koana/Aoki where Matsumura/Tanida responded with a 7-6 win over Miyu Ueno/Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi (Karuizawa, JPN). Matsumura/Tanida won 12-7 against Moka Tanaka/Koei Sato (Morioka, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Japanese Mixed Doubles National Championship Championship title, Matsumura/Tanida earned 26.250 world rankings points. For week 19 of the event schedule, Matsumura/Tanida did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 6th place on the World Ranking Standings with 123.428 total points. Matsumura/Tanida ranks 7th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 68.128 points earned so far this season.
