Kohane Tsuruga/Yuki Abe (Sapporo, JPN) finished 2-3 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tsuruga/Abe defeated Kai Tsuchiya/Kohei Okamura (Tokyo, JPN) 11-9, then went on to lose 8-3 against Yumiko Kashiwagi/Koji Nisato (Nagano, JPN). Tsuruga/Abe lost 6-4 to Chiaki Matsumura/Yasumasa Tanida (Nagano, JPN) where Tsuruga/Abe responded with a 1-0 win over Yuina Miura/Ayato Sasaki (Sapporo, JPN). Tsuruga/Abe went on to lose 7-6 against Mizuki Hara/Kazushi Niino (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Tsuruga/Abe earned 2.625 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 19 of the event schedule, Tsuruga/Abe did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Tsuruga/Abe ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
