CHAMPION: Munro Wins 2025 FISU World University Games

Robyn Munro (Glasgow, GBR) won 10-8 over Kim Sutor (Muenchen, GER) in the Final of the FISU World University Games, held January 11 - 14, 2025 in Turin, Italy. To advance to the championship game, Munro won 6-3 over Giulia Zardini Lacedelli (Roma, ITA) in the semifinals of the 2025 FISU World University Games in Turin, Italy;

Munro finished 6-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Munro defeated Sara Olson (Duluth, USA) 7-6, then won 8-5 against Nadine Baertschiger (Solothurn, SUI). Munro went on to lose 10-4 against Sutor. Munro responded with a 7-5 win over Jessica Zheng (Niagara Falls, CAN). Munro won 9-3 against Zardini Lacedelli, then won 9-6 against Yui Ozeki (Tokyo, JPN) and 7-5 against Eilin Kjaerland (Lillehammer, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the FISU World University Games Championship title, Munro earned 11.250 world rankings points. For week 25 of the event schedule, Munro did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Munro ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
