Alena Yurko (Calgary/Edmonton, AB) won 7-5 over Abby Desormeau (Beaumont/Red Deer, AB) in the Final of the Alberta Optimist U18 Girls Provincial Championship, held January 2 - 6, 2025 at the Leduc Curling Club in Leduc, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Yurko won 9-2 over Lila Koe (Okotoks/Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2025 Alberta Optimist U18 Girls Provincial Championship in Leduc, Alberta, Canada;
 
Yurko are currently 3-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yurko defeated Siobhan McGriskin (Grande Prairie, AB) 6-3, then went on to lose 7-3 against Desormeau. Yurko responded with a 9-1 win over Darby McMillan (Wainwright/Sherwood Park, AB). Yurko won 7-2 against Emma Deschiffart (Lacombe/Edmonton, AB). In their opening game, Yurko plays Sierra Wyatt (Lacombe, AB) on Thursday at 4pm and Kieran Roa (Calgary, AB) at 9pm and Kieran Roa (Calgary, AB) at 9pm.
