Gergely Szabo (Budapest, HUN) finished 3-4 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Szabo defeated Israel's Alex Pokras 7-6, then went on to lose 9-3 against Eduard Nikolov (Kyiv, UKR). Szabo lost 8-7 to Ugurcan Karagoz (Erzurum, TUR). Szabo lost 8-7 to Timothy Verreycken (Zemst, BEL) where Szabo responded with a 7-6 win over Kristaps Zass (Riga, LAT). Szabo went on to lose 11-3 against Sergio Vez (San Sebastian, ESP). Szabo responded with a 7-5 win over Jakub Jurkovic (Bratislava, SVK) in their final qualifying round match.

Szabo earned 1.125 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 17 of the event schedule, Szabo did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Szabo ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
