7-2 to Sergio Vez (San Sebastian, ESP), droppimg another game, 10-5 to Timothy Verreycken (Zemst, BEL). Zass lost 10-9 to Eduard Nikolov (Kyiv, UKR). Zass lost 7-6 to Gergely Szabo (Budapest, HUN) where Zass responded with a 11-8 win over Jakub Jurkovic (Bratislava, SVK). Zass went on to lose 8-7 against Israel's Alex Pokras. Zass lost 7-1 to Ugurcan Karagoz (Erzurum, TUR) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Zass earned 0.375 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
