Eddy Mercier (Megeve, FRA) finished 5-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mercier lost 5-4 to Jacob Schmidt (Hvidovre, DEN), then responded with a 8-1 win over James Pougher (Hawarden, WAL). Mercier won 6-4 against Ireland's John Wilson, then won 14-8 against Eduard Veltsman (Tallinn, EST) and 9-5 against Matias Hanninen (Hyvinkaa, FIN). Mercier went on to lose 10-2 against Konrad Stych (Walbrzych, POL). Mercier responded with a 8-3 win over Reto Seiler (Sofia, BUL) in their final qualifying round match.

Mercier earned 1.875 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 17 of the event schedule, Mercier did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Mercier ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
