In their opening game, Ackerman lost 6-3 to Katy Mercer (Shaker Heights, OH), then responded with a 7-2 win over Kaitlyn Hamann (La Crosse, WI). Ackerman won 9-5 against Brigitte Robertson (Dallas-Fort Worth, TX), then won 5-3 against Morgan Weber (Sioux Falls, SD). Ackerman went on to lose 11-4 against Julie Segovia (Houston, TX) in their final qualifying round match.
