Jacob Schmidt (Hvidovre, DEN) finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schmidt lost
8-7 to Kasper Wiksten (Hvodovre, DEN), then responded with a 8-0 win over Axel Landelius (Mjolby, SWE). Schmidt won 8-5 against Stefano Gilli (Pinerolo, ITA). Schmidt went on to lose 7-5 against Timothy Verreycken (Zemst, BEL). Schmidt responded with a 10-4 win over Matias Hanninen (Hyvinkaa, FIN). Schmidt won 4-3 against Gilli, then won 6-2 against Verreycken in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Danish Open Championship title, Schmidt earned 3.750 world rankings points along with the $1,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 14 of the event schedule, Schmidt did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Schmidt ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
