Hanson went on to lose 11-4 against Rene Comeau (Fredericton, NB). Hanson responded with a 6-3 win over Damien Lahiton (Moncton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Hanson earned 1.813 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Superstore Monctonian Challenge, moving up 135 spots the World Ranking Standings into 277th place overall with 2.282 total points.
