Kendal Thompson (Halifax, NS) lost 6-1 to Scott Jones (Moncton, NB) in the Final of the Superstore Monctonian Challenge, held December 13 - 15, 2024 in Moncton, New Brunswick. To advance to the championship game, Thompson won 6-4 over Brody Hanson (Fredericton, NB) in the semifinals
 
Thompson finished 3-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thompson defeated Damien Lahiton (Moncton, NB) 9-2, then won 6-2 against Rene Comeau (Fredericton, NB). Thompson went on to lose 7-5 against Jones. Thompson responded with a 6-5 win over Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Superstore Monctonian Challenge, Thompson take home 2.750 world rankings points along with the $1,500CDN prize, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 93rd place overall with 29.225 total points. Thompson ranks 83rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 21.250 points earned so far this season.
