5-4 to Bobae Kang (Jeonbuk, KOR), then responded with a 11-8 win over Eunjung Kim (Gangneung, KOR). Kim went on to lose 9-4 against Hanbyeol Park (Gyeongbuk, KOR). Kim lost 5-3 to Eun ji Gim (Gyeonggido, KOR) where Kim responded with a 11-2 win over Korea's Gyuri Kim. Kim won 8-6 against Youbeen Park (Seoul, KOR). Kim went on to lose 6-2 against Seungyoun Ha (Chuncheon, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Kim earned 6.188 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 1 of the event schedule, Kim did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kim ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
