Bobae Kang (Jeonbuk, KOR) finished 3-4 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kang defeated Suhyeon Kim (Uiseong, KOR) 5-4, then won 8-6 against Eun ji Gim (Gyeonggido, KOR) and 14-0 against Korea's Gyuri Kim. Kang went on to lose 6-4 against Youbeen Park (Seoul, KOR). Kang lost 7-3 to Seungyoun Ha (Chuncheon, KOR). Kang lost 9-7 to Hanbyeol Park (Gyeongbuk, KOR). Kang lost 9-6 to Eunjung Kim (Gangneung, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.

Kang earned 6.188 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 1 of the event schedule, Kang did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kang ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
