Koei Sato (Tohoku, JPN) finished 1-3 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sato defeated Ryo Wakabayashi (Kyoto, JPN) 10-7, then went on to lose 11-1 against Kohsuke Hirata (Kitami, JPN). Sato lost 9-2 to Rui Matsuura (Nagano, JPN).
