Alexandre Leduc (Valleyfield, QC) needed a tiebreaker to advance to the playoffs, Leduc finished 2-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Leduc defeated Dominique Jean (Montreal, MTL) 6-2, then went on to lose 7-4 against Jean-Sebastien Roy (Des Collines, QC). Leduc responded with a 10-3 win over Marcelo Mello (Sao Paolo, BRA) in their final qualifying round match.

Leduc earned 0.750 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 9 of the event schedule, Leduc did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Leduc ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
