Robertson/Robertson went on to lose 11-1 against Chiaki Matsumura/Yasumasa Tanida (Nagano/Hokkaido, JPN). Robertson/Robertson responded with a 5-3 win over Kimberley Headley/John Headley (Newmarket, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Robertson/Robertson earned 1.125 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
