Jordon McDonald (Winnipeg, MB) lost 6-5 to John Epping (Sudbury, NO) in the Final of the Duluth Cash Spiel, held December 20 - 22 at the Duluth Curling Club in Duluth, United States. To advance to the championship game, McDonald won 7-2 over Timothy Hodek (Fargo, ND) in the semifinals of the Duluth Cash Spiel in Duluth, Minnesota, United States; and won 7-3 over Daniel Casper (Chaska, MN) in the quarterfinals. of the Duluth Cash Spiel in Duluth, Minnesota, United States;

McDonald finished 4-0 in the 25-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McDonald defeated Ryan Murphy (Chicago, IL) 6-0, then won 5-0 against Jed Brundidge (West St Paul, MN) and 6-5 against Jayden King (London, ON). McDonald won 5-3 against Wesley Wendling (Chaska, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Duluth Cash Spiel, McDonald take home 16.500 world rankings points along with the $6,319CDN prize, remaining in 24th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 3.75 after improving upon their best so far this season.
