Zheng/Pietrangelo Reaches 2024 St. Thomas Mixed Doubles Classic Quarters

Jessica Zheng/Victor Pietrangelo (Niagara Falls, ON) qualified for the 2024 St. Thomas Mixed Doubles Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-4 against McKenna McGovern/Tanner Nathan (Sarnia, ON).

Zheng/Pietrangelo finished 5-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Zheng/Pietrangelo defeated Michelle Roach/Adam Gilbert (Burlington, ON) 8-2, then won 6-1 against Dawn Sherk/Nate Sherk (Ayr, ON) and 10-3 against Anneka Burghout/Marty Thompson (Toronto, ON). Zheng/Pietrangelo won 9-1 against India Jackson/Brent Montgomery (Dundas, ON), then won 6-2 against Casandra Spruit/Geoff Spruit (Winchester, ON). Zheng/Pietrangelo went on to lose 0-0 against McGovern/Nathan in their final qualifying round match.

Zheng/Pietrangelo earned 7.500 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the St. Thomas Mixed Doubles Classic. For week 21 of the event schedule, Zheng/Pietrangelo did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Zheng/Pietrangelo ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
