Takumi Maeda (Tokoro, JPN) qualified for the ADVICS Cup playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 8-7 against Kohsuke Hirata (Kitami, JPN). of the ADVICS Cup in Kitami, Japan, Japan;

Maeda finished 2-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Maeda lost 7-4 to Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN), then responded with a 11-3 win over Japan's Ryo Aoki. Maeda won 8-2 against Japan's Kotaro Noguchi in their final qualifying round match.
