Fellmann/Kovalchuk finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fellmann/Kovalchuk defeated Allison Kenney/Edward Scimia (Bridgeport, CT) 6-4, then won 7-4 against Johanne Ruel/Denis Gendron (Montreal, QC). Fellmann/Kovalchuk went on to lose 6-5 against Anne Sophie Gionest/Robert Desjardins (Saguenay, QC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the GOLDLINE Mixed Doubles Mont-Bruno Championship title, Fellmann/Kovalchuk earned 15.000 world rankings points along with the $1,000CDN first prize cheque.
