Ying Yang/Jiafeng Tian (Beijing, CHN) finished 2-2 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yang/Tian defeated Jessica Smith/Ben Smith (Naseby, NZL) 10-6, then won 8-4 against Gerard/ Gerard (Beaumont, AB). Yang/Tian went on to lose 10-3 against Ziqi Dong/Xueqing Fei (Beijing, CHN). Yang/Tian lost 8-5 to Yu Han/Zhi Yu Wang (BEIJING, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.

Yang/Tian earned 1.125 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 17 of the event schedule, Yang/Tian did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Yang/Tian ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
