Morozumi finished 5-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morozumi defeated Kenan Wipf (Calgary, AB) 6-3, then went on to lose 7-4 against Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN). Morozumi lost 7-3 to Johnson Tao (Edmonton, AB) where Morozumi responded with a 9-1 win over Mathias Genner (Kitzbuehel, AUT). Morozumi won 8-6 against Xiao Ming Xu (BEI JING, CHN), then won 6-4 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) and 7-6 against Tao in their final qualifying round match.

Morozumi earned 16.500 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the ATB Okotoks Classic. For week 8 of the event schedule, Morozumi did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Morozumi ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
