John Shuster (Duluth, MN) lost 5-2 to Mike McEwen (Saskatoon, SK) in the Final of the ATB Okotoks Classic, held September 19 - 22, 2024 at the Okotoks Curling Club in Okotoks, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Shuster won 7-4 over Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN) in the semifinals of the 2024 ATB Okotoks Classic in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada; and won 6-0 over Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2024 ATB Okotoks Classic in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada;
 
Shuster finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shuster defeated James Ballance (Okotoks/Edmonton, AB) 8-2, then won 7-1 against Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED) and 5-4 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the ATB Okotoks Classic, Shuster take home 30.250 world rankings points along with the $10,000CDN prize. For week 8 of the event schedule, Shuster did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Shuster ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
