Ueno/Yamaguchi won 9-6 against Japan's Natsumi Urataki/Shun Ichitsubo, then won 5-4 against Japan's Momoha Tabata/Shinya Abe and 8-4 against Japan's Mikoto Nakajima/Shingo Usui. Ueno/Yamaguchi won 9-4 against Japan's Tori Koana/Go Aoki. Ueno/Yamaguchi went on to lose 7-5 against Japan's Chiaki Matsumura/Yasumasa Tanida. Ueno/Yamaguchi responded with a 8-6 win over Japan's Kaho Onodera/Takumi Maeda in their final qualifying round match.
