Gill/Hewitt finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gill/Hewitt defeated Kerry Myers/Michael Lerner (Naperville, IL) 13-1, then won 11-0 against Melissa Turbow/Tony Kot (Lafayette , CO) and 8-4 against Thiesse/Dropkin. Gill/Hewitt won 5-4 against Kaldvee/Lill in their final qualifying round match.
