Alberto Pimpini (Pinerolo, ITA) finished 4-3 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Pimpini lost 6-5 to Jan Iseli (Solothurn , SUI), then responded with a 8-5 win over Eduard Nikolov (Kyiv, UKR). Pimpini won 6-1 against Marco Ringgenberg (Bern, SUI). Pimpini went on to lose 9-3 against Giacomo Colli (Trentino, ITA). Pimpini responded with a 5-0 win over Mathias Genner (Kitzbuehel, AUT). Pimpini won 7-2 against Fredrik Nyman (Solleftea, SWE). Pimpini went on to lose 7-6 against Iseli in their final qualifying round match.

Pimpini earned 6.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 13 of the event schedule, Pimpini did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Pimpini ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
