Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN) won 5-4 over Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE) in the Final of the Karuizawa International, held December 13 - 15, 2024 at the Karuizawa Ice Park in Karuizawa, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Yoshimura won 8-3 over Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI) in the semifinals

Yoshimura finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yoshimura defeated Hasselborg 6-3, then won 8-1 against Selena Sturmay (Edmonton, AB). Yoshimura went on to lose 6-5 against Youbeen Park (Seoul, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Karuizawa International Championship title, Yoshimura earned 41.250 world rankings points along with the $6,535CDN first prize cheque. For week 20 of the event schedule, Yoshimura did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Yoshimura ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
