Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE) lost 8-4 to Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI) in the Final of the Le Gruyere AOP European Curling Championships, held November 16 - 23, 2024 in Lohja, Finland. To advance to the championship game, Hasselborg won 6-4 over Sophie Jackson (Stirling, SCO) in the semifinals
Hasselborg finished 7-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hasselborg defeated Jackson 8-5, then won 10-8 against Vera Kalocsai-van Dorp (Budapest, HUN) and 8-2 against Liisa Turmann (Tallinn, EST). Hasselborg won 8-5 against Virginija Paulauskaite (Vilnius, LTU), then won 7-5 against Madeleine Dupont (Hvidovre, DEN) and 8-6 against Marianne Roervik (Lillehammer, NOR). Hasselborg went on to lose 7-5 against Tirinzoni. Hasselborg lost 7-5 to Dilsat Yildiz (Erzurum, TUR) where Hasselborg responded with a 8-4 win over Stefania Constantini (Cortina d'Ampezzo, ITA) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Le Gruyere AOP European Curling Championships, Hasselborg take home 44.000 world rankings points. For week 17 of the event schedule, Hasselborg did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Hasselborg ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
