Marc Muskatewitz (Fuessen, GER) won 9-7 over Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) in the Final of the Le Gruyere AOP European Curling Championships, held November 16 - 23, 2024 in Lohja, Finland. To advance to the championship game, Muskatewitz won 8-2 over Magnus Ramsfjell (Trondheim, NOR) in the semifinals
Muskatewitz finished 6-3 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Muskatewitz lost 8-4 to Ramsfjell, then responded with a 10-2 win over Mathias Genner (Kitzbuehel, AUT). Muskatewitz won 9-5 against Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED), then won 6-5 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad , SWE) and 9-3 against Yannick Schwaller (Geneve, SUI). Muskatewitz won 8-6 against Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE). Muskatewitz went on to lose 12-5 against Mouat. Muskatewitz lost 8-5 to Joel Retornaz (Cembra, ITA) where Muskatewitz responded with a 10-2 win over Rob Retchless (Preston , ENG) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Le Gruyere AOP European Curling Championships Championship title, Muskatewitz earned 71.250 world rankings points. For week 17 of the event schedule, Muskatewitz did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Muskatewitz ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
