Tao went on to lose 6-5 against Jared Kolomaya (Richmond, BC). Tao lost 5-4 to Ryan Wiebe (Winnipeg, MB) where Tao responded with a 6-1 win over Cole Adams (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Tao earned 7.500 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the SGI Canada Best of the West, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 68th place overall with 46.250 total points. Tao ranks 68th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 46.250 points earned so far this season.
