Hayley Gushue/Spencer Tipple (St.John's, NL) finished 2-3 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue/Tipple lost 9-1 to Kira Brunton/Jake Horgan (Sudbury, ON), droppimg another game, 8-2 to Sarah Bailey/Dylan Sipura (St.Catherines, ON) where Gushue/Tipple responded with a 5-4 win over Amber Gargul/Leandre Girard (Montreal, QC). Gushue/Tipple won 8-5 against Meaghan Mallett/Brendan Jackson (Guelph, ON). Gushue/Tipple went on to lose 8-0 against Zoe Cinnamon/Johnson Tao (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Gushue/Tipple earned 1.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 5 of the event schedule, Gushue/Tipple did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Gushue/Tipple ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
