Gracelyn Richards (Edmonton, AB) lost 9-4 to Taylor Reese-Hansen (Victoria, BC) in the Final of the U25 NextGen Classic, held August 27 - 30 at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Richards won 4-2 over Emma Artichuk (Ottawa, ON) in the semifinals of the U25 NextGen Classic in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada;

Richards finished 3-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Richards defeated Isabelle Ladouceur (Sudbury, ON) 7-5, then went on to lose 8-2 against Reese-Hansen. Richards lost 6-2 to Emilie Lovitt (Sudbury, ON) where Richards responded with a 6-3 win over Jenna Pomedli (Wadena, SK). Richards won 7-6 against Katie Ford (Niagara Falls, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the U25 NextGen Classic, Richards take home 13.750 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN prize. For week 5 of the event schedule, Richards did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Richards ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
