Sam Mooibroek (Whitby, ON) won 6-4 over Jonathan Beuk (Kingston, ON) in the Final of the Stu Sells Brantford NISSAN Classic, held December 6 - 9, 2024 at the Brant Curling Club in Brantford, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Mooibroek won 7-6 over Scott Howard (Navan, ON) in the semifinals of the 2024 Stu Sells Brantford NISSAN Classic in Brantford, Ontario, Canada; and won 8-1 over Trevor Bonot (Thunder Bay, NO) in the quarterfinals.
Mooibroek finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mooibroek defeated Scott Ray (Tweed, ON) 8-6, then won 5-4 against Michael Fournier (Toronto, ON) and 8-3 against Daniel Hocevar (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Stu Sells Brantford NISSAN Classic Championship title, Mooibroek earned 26.250 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque. Mooibroek move up 6 spots after posting a net gain of 11.14 points improving upon their best 6 results so far this season, ranking 21st overall with 146.828 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Mooibroek ranks 22nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 101.500 points earned so far this season.
