Sam Mooibroek (Whitby, ON) lost 7-6 to ByeongJin Jeong (Seoul, KOR) in the Final of the Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic, held October 30 - November 3, 2024 at the Halifax Curling Club in Halifax, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Mooibroek won 9-7 over Julien Tremblay (Quebec, QC) in the semifinals of the Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada;

Mooibroek finished 4-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mooibroek defeated Paul Flemming (Halifax, NS) 7-6, then won 10-1 against Kendal Thompson (Halifax, NS) and 7-3 against Greg Smith (St. John's, NL). Mooibroek won 7-6 against Taylor Ardiel (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic, Mooibroek take home 13.750 world rankings points along with the $5,500CDN prize. For week 14 of the event schedule, Mooibroek did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Mooibroek ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
