Kaitlyn Lawes (Winnipeg, MB) needed a tiebreaker to advance to the playoffs, Lawes finished 2-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lawes lost 7-3 to Stefania Constantini (Cortina d'Ampezzo, ITA), then responded with a 6-4 win over Ikue Kitazawa (Nagano, JPN). Lawes went on to lose 8-4 against Eun ji Gim (Gyeonggido, KOR). Lawes responded with a 6-5 win over Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Lawes earned 7.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 15 of the event schedule, Lawes did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Lawes ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
